Liege will see global e-commerce leaders gather under one roof
The EU Cross-Border E-commerce Forum (EU CBEC) 2026 is celebrating having passed the 1,000-mark in registered attendees for the first time ever. The event is being organised once again by CARGOLAND by LGG together with Wallonia Export & Investment Agency and the forum will be held at the prestigious Palais de Congres Liege from 8 – 10 September 2026.
The event has attracted 53 speakers, over 300 companies including 60 different airlines, more than 100 freight forwarders, 15 media outlets and a great many shippers from various industries. Confirmed panellists include Stanislas Brun, Ryan Keyrouse, Peter Scholten, Roos Bakker, Jonathan Clark, Wolfgang Meier, Asok Kumar, Stefan Krikken, Yulia Celetaria and Kristian Vanderwaeren, alongside many other industry leaders.
Frédéric Brun, VP Sales & Marketing at CargoLand by LGG, said: “The forum will showcase a powerful range of topics that go straight to the heart of the present and future state of e-commerce and investigates opportunities and challenges from every relevant angle.
“We are hosting a sparkling range of panel discussions, speeches and keynote addresses that will cover topics such as ‘From Platforms to Ecosystems: The Next Chapter of Marketplace Growth,’ ‘Vertical Marketplaces as the New Specialized Export Corridors in Global Trade’ and ‘Diversifying Cargo Flows in an Era of Market Uncertainty’.”
Frédéric added: “Marketplaces are entering a harder phase of growth. Customs reform, tighter product rules and rising consumer expectations are increasing cost and complexity across the e-commerce chain. The winners will be those that can scale without weakening compliance, delivery performance or trust.
“For senior leaders, the issue is no longer growth at any price. It is disciplined expansion built on stronger data, better seller controls and more resilient logistics. Platforms must improve product traceability, manage tax and customs obligations and give consumers clearer information on price, origin and delivery.
“The market opportunity is still substantial. However, future growth will favour businesses that can combine convenience with control. Compliance, transparency and service quality are becoming core commercial capabilities, not back-office functions, supporting investor confidence.”
This year’s motto, “Freight meets Magic”, will set the tone from the cocktail welcome reception, which will launch the networking programme, through to the Gala Dinner, where a number of surprises are planned. The LAB Area will also bring this theme to life, showcasing smart technologies and operational solutions for e-commerce and air cargo.
Established in 2019, the EU CBEC is a strategic Belgium–China initiative bringing together retailers, brands, global logistics leaders, digital platforms and technology providers. Its programme combines seminars, expert panels, keynote presentations, networking sessions, exhibition stands, B2B meetings and company visits, giving participants direct access to new ideas, emerging technologies and potential business opportunities across the global cross-border e-commerce market.
